Fibbies (Sorta) Follow AG Watch Tip
Most days, AG Watch does not get the jump on the Federal Bureau of Investigation; yesterday, we did. And we’re bragging about it.
On May 31, 2005, we pointed to the connection between Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro’s campaign fund and state contracts for legal services. Now the FBI is investigating the corollary: folks who refused to support Petro were blacklisted by the state.
We can’t tell which is worse: that firms in Ohio have come to depend on the state teat, or that the state teat can so corruptibly support such a foul brood. But we’d be very surprised if Ohio was alone in AG contingency kickbacks.
